The multi-year and $158 million overall project to complete the widening of I-5 from Centralia to Grand Mound, Wash., has entered its final phase with the ongoing work by Kent, Wash.-based Scarsella Brothers Inc., whose $48 million phase of the work includes several new bridges and the building of new roads.

PORT ANGELES — Clallam County has awarded a $4.8 million bid to a Kent contractor to build an underpass of U.S. Highway 101 east of Port Angeles. The three commissioners Tuesday unanimously awarded the bid to Scarsella Bros. Inc., the same company the state hired to widen a two-lane stretch of the highway between Port Angeles and Sequim.
